The developer behind the Ethereum (ETH) layer-2 scaling solution Polygon (MATIC) announced that they are promoting their chief legal officer, web3 veteran Marc Boiron, to become their new CEO. At the same time, Ryan Watt will be stepping down at the end of this month to take on an advisory role within the company.
Boiron’s Background in Blockchain and Digital Assets
Before joining Polygon, Marc Boiron worked in blockchain and digital assets-focused law practice and led the legal department of dYdX decentralized exchange (DEX). Co-founder and executive chairman Sandeep Nailwal believes that Boiron will be a great asset for the company with his deep understanding of web3 technology. He has served as an advisor to some leading crypto funds in space and helped drive many successful DeFi protocols.
